Qualification Specification
This is the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF), qualification number 610/0498/4. Regulated by Ofqual and meets standards for senior roles across residential care, domiciliary care, community support, and other adult care settings.
A minimum of 50 hours work placement in a regulated care environment is required. If you’re already working in care, your current role may count towards this requirement.

This diploma is ideal for individuals currently working in adult care. No formal academic qualifications are required, and learners from all educational backgrounds are welcome.

Requirements:

  • Access to any device with a reliable internet connection to complete online modules.
  • Must be based in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) to complete workplace observations.
  • Learners already working in care must have a qualified expert witness at their workplace to verify practical skills.
  • Workplace observations must be signed by a qualified expert witness who:
    • Understands the RQF units
    • Has relevant experience in care
    • Has assessment experience or a role in evaluating staff practice

Initial Assessment:

All learners are required to complete an initial assessment of English  before starting the course. If a learner has already completed such assessments, their records will be reviewed and updated by Welfare Academy as needed to ensure readiness for the programme.

This ensures that every learner’s starting point is assessed, allowing for tailored support throughout the course.

This Adult Care Level 3 course is assessed through a series of assignments designed to evaluate your knowledge and understanding. Assignments are typically completed at the end of each module or unit throughout the programme.

Completing Assignments

After reviewing the course materials, you can begin working on the assignments. Assessment may include:

  • Written assignments and coursework
  • Workplace evidence, such as written testimonies from a manager or colleague
  • Direct observations of work-related tasks
  • Submission of work products as evidence

Face-to-Face Observation

Face-to-face observation is a mandatory component of the course to assess practical skills in a real workplace setting.

  • NCFE Cache Level 3 Adult Care Qualification: One face-to-face observation will be conducted by a welfare Academy assessor.
