The CHAPs qualification is a Level 3 UK care qualification, combining practical clinical skills, professional practice knowledge, and leadership competencies. Successful candidates can safely carry out advanced care tasks under supervision, supporting both residents and the wider care team.

Entry Requirements
🧑💼 1. Relevant Work Experience
- You usually need experience working as a care assistant or senior care worker already. It’s designed for people who are already in the care sector (not beginners).
- Experience of practical care work and some competence in basic care tasks is expected before taking on more advanced modules.
🎓 2. Minimum Qualification Level
- Most providers ask for a minimum at least Level 2 standard (for example NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent).
- This means you should be comfortable with basic care knowledge and supporting people’s needs safely before moving onto the CHAPs level training.
